General skin lightening as well as lightening of hyperpigmentation patches have become possible today thanks to the development of the latest high-power laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) technologies as well as the know-how of their applications.
The VIP Laser Clinic has the honour and privilege to introduce the latest and safest laser and IPL treatments to you for skin lightening and treatment of hyperpigmentation patches. As from your first treatment session, your skin starts lightening and dark/brown patches start disappearing as well as the skin of the whole face or any other treated area starts getting fairer.
For dark brown or very dark skin, the skin will shed off first its epidermal layers intensely filled with melanin in order to lighten up slowly, though zones of lighter skin can also be immediately seen after the treatment but the latter depends on the presence of lesser concentrations of melanin in the epidermis. So, in cases of dark skin, skin lightening will take place mostly in the form of patches and not uniformly over the whole black skin surface area as the concerned skin area is not necessarily pigmented uniformly with melanin in such cases.
Skin lightening will relieve you of your abnormally darkened skin over time. Your dark skin patches or zones are due to the overproduction of melanin in the skin upon the prolonged action of natural factors such as sunshine and the ageing process.
Using our advanced laser and IPL systems, which are non-invasive light therapy apparatuses, we can effectively treat skin surface pigmentation problems, such as various hyperpigmentation problems like chloasma, melasma, age spots, liver spots and uneven dark skin due to the overproduction of melanin in the epidermis of the skin.
The light energy from the laser and IPL systems targets the melanin in the pigmented lesion, which absorbs the light, heats up and is eliminated from your skin in the following two possible ways:
- Part of the melanin is broken down by the action of the intense pulsed light into microscopic particles and is evacuated via the body's natural defense, circulation and excretory systems.
- Due to the action of the intense pulsed light, the other part of the melanin initially turns darker and forms a micro-crust or thin dark layer on the skin. Then, over a period of normally 3 to 7 days for small patches/spots and up till two weeks or more for larger patches/zones, also depending on the intensity/thickness of the melanin pigmentation in the epidermis, the darkened pigmentation layer or micro-crust will flake or shed away, leaving little trace of the original mark. The patient only has to be patient and bear with the changes occurring at his epidermis level and follow his treating doctor's advice. Finally, in this way the skin gets renewed and excellent results can be seen with this treatment.
Laser/IPL treatment for skin lightening gives a normal and natural rose-coloured skin, thus restoring your healthy and fresh-looking skin. This treatment also produces an approximately 40% increase in collagen, reducing fine lines and replenishing moisture loss.
Different skins will demand different degrees of lightening. In general, one normally needs a course of an average number of 3 to 5 laser or IPL sessions of skin-lightening treatment. Each laser or IPL skin lightening treatment session is given to you with an interval of around 4 - 6 weeks normally in order to obtain the desired results.
For more information and treatment, you are, first of all, advised to call at the clinic for an appointment for a medico-aesthetic consultation that will help determine your individual treatment.
