  1. What is a laser?
A laser is a specific source of light, where the light rays are concentrated into a light beam bearing specific properties, such as a very narrow bandwidth, a high level of coherence, parallel rays of light and high intensity. The word LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It is to be borne in mind that there is no radiation in a laser beam and therefore no radioactive effects. A laser is, in fact, a light amplifier.

  2. Can a laser be used to treat people?
Yes, definitely. The lasers which are used to treat people are called medical lasers.

  3. How many types of medical lasers are there?
There are two main types of medical lasers, namely low-power lasers and high power lasers. Low-power or low-intensity or low-level lasers are used for therapeutic purposes - anti-inflammatory effect, pain-killing effect, improvement of blood circulation, stimulation of immune system, regenerative effect, repairing effect, and others. High-power lasers are used for surgical purposes - mainly to cut and to coagulate.

  4. Do lasers cause cancer?
No, never. On the opposite, lasers are nowadays being widely and successfully used to treat various types of cancers and are called Photo-Dynamic Therapy (PDT) Lasers.

  5. Why are some people afraid of lasers?
Some people are afraid of lasers due to their lack of knowledge about lasers. Initially people are afraid of lasers as they have seen laser guns in science-fiction films since ever lasers were known to people. The next problem is that people get the wrong information about lasers from the people surrounding them, especially from people who know nothing or very little about lasers and who tend to speak too much about them, trying to show their "big" knowledge about the subject. Another yet existing problem is that some doctors who see their colleagues doing laser treatments as threatening concurrences do speak wrong about lasers in order to make their patients believe that lasers give harmful side-effects, including cancer, thus making these people afraid of lasers and hence making them not go for laser treatments which, in fact, would give them better results than traditional medical therapies. My advice to such people is to look for appropriate medical literature on the applications of lasers in various medical fields and to gather the so-much needed knowledge in order to make one's own idea about lasers and their use in medicine and surgery.

  6. Are lasers so vital and beneficial in maintaining human health?
Yes, nowadays lasers are being used more and more widely in various fields of medicine and they are proving themselves to be a vital part of medicine as they are being beneficial to people in improving their health and treating earlier non-treatable or hardly treatable diseases. From here, do arise laser medicine and laser surgery.

  7. Which type of laser is used as Slim Laser?
Slim Laser is a special type of high power laser which is used not to cut, coagulate or burn surgically but only to dissolve the fats into liquid oils.

  8. Does Slim Laser cause any harmful side-effects?
No, absolutely none. Slim Laser is an absolutely safe medical tool in the hands of the medical laser expert.

  9. Are there any risks associated with the Slim Laser intervention?
The risk is that associated with the possiblity of an infection occuring just like after any surgical operation or intervention. However, if you take the necessary precautions of not moistening your dressings with water or sweat, i.e. of keeping your dressings clean and dry, and of taking the medications, such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and analgesics (pain-killers) prescribed by your treating doctor as well as attending your post-interventional treatment sessions, you are sure to be on the safe side of not catching any infection and recovering rapidly with a quick subcutaneous wound healing process.

  10. How is the Slim Laser intervention carried out?
The Slim Laser intervention is carried out within the sterile conditions of a laser operation room. The Slim Laser intervention is carried out in conditions of local anaesthesia for dissolving the fats into liquid oils. The main thing is that no pain is felt and no bleeding occurs during the intervention. The intervention is absolutely safe.

  11. Does the patient need to be hospitalized in order to receive the Slim Laser treatment?
No, absolutely not. The patient is treated with Slim Laser on an out-patient basis. No hospitalization is necessary. The patient can go home in 10 to 30 minutes normally.

  12. Does the fat come back again in the region after the Slim Laser treatment?
The fat does not come back again in the body regions treated by Slim Laser as most fat cells have been ruptured by Slim Laser and their contents have been liquefied and reabsorbed or sucked out by usual active suction method. The fat cells which have been destroyed cannot grow again and cannot be replaced especially after the age of puberty. Yet, some fat cells are not ruptured or destroyed during the Slim Laser procedure as these are needed to be left in order to nourish the skin as well as perform other physiological functions, It is exactly in case of over-eating that these few fat cells grow in size due to the excessive deposit of fats. However they don't grow in number. Therefore, your actual body shape cannot be worse than before in any case. However, it would be reasonable and ideal for you to follow a specific diet for keeping your weight down to normal, exercising for the same purpose as well as normalizing your life-style, excluding the consumption of alcoholic and tobacco products as well as regulating your stress level and sleep.
